Identify
Who are you meeting? Their job titles and relationship to the job you have applied for.
Job Research
Find out what the job entails. A good agency will always provide you with a detailed job specification.
Plan Ahead
Get a location map, contact telephone numbers, have money, mobile phone if possible, allow yourself additional time to arrive.
Company Research
This is critical, try to source company brochures and have a thorough review of the company website. Most companies today have a Web Site and they expect you to have researched their company. Particularly you should have knowledge of –
- The company’s core activities
- Their history and origins
- Where the company operates
- The type and number of company employees
- Current initiatives and future plans
- Who the head of the organisation is
- Any recent press comments
