They are focused in a number of key geographical markets from the UK and Europe to America and the Middle East. They are a multinational engineering and design consultancy, providing expertise to help resolve complex challenges presented by the built and natural environment.

Due to substantial new remediation and regeneration projects in both the private and public sectors, our client is seeking additional high quality applicants to join teams in Glasgow and Edinburgh.

The role will involve:

• Supervision of remediation of contaminated land including collection of validation data and preparation of validation reports
• The responsibility for the design and supervision of investigations of contaminated land
• The preparation of interpretative reports and risk assessments
• The development of remediation options
• Assisting in the project management tasks of scheduling work and monitoring budgets
• Liaising with clients, stakeholders and regulators
• Providing specialist advice to clients and other divisions
• Working with the rest of the team in advancing their technical capability to the highest standard

The successful candidate will:

• Have a first degree in Environmental Science/Geology
• Have experience in the design and management of geoenvironmental investigations and monitoring
• Have experience in undertaking and reporting Phase I and II geoenvironmental studies
• Have experience in undertaking environmental risk assessments
• Ideally have a post graduate qualification in a related subject
• Be numerate and familiar with IT and software appropriate to the tasks undertaken
• Be familiar with relevant codes of practice and industry standards
• Have good interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively
• Have good technical and report writing skills
• Be highly motivated and conscientious
• Be looking for professional development and chartered status
• Be flexible and prepared to take on new challenges
