The Company
My client is a well-recognized, reputable company within the environmental industry. They are a large multidisciplinary consultancy dealing with operation in 50 countries worldwide. Within the UK they have employed over 500 employees in eleven offices. This leading international company has an exciting opportunity for a senior Consultant to join their expanding waste team.
The Role
• Deliver solutions to a variety of clients. Support the team in developing new business and writing proposals. Offer and deliver technical solutions to meet the business and client expectations.
• Maintain and develop expertise and continue to increase technical breadth. Will act as a technical lead on a range of projects and proposals and communicate complex issues to colleagues and clients.
• Manage projects including costs, performance and spend against budget, quality, deadlines, delivery of reports, presentations and other deliverables.
• Resolve technical and financial queries through consultation with project managers and technical managers where appropriate. Responsible for client care as required on projects including communication of progress, complex issues and any financial arrangements. Ensure projects delivered are meeting the client’s needs.
• Support the Commercial Director to further develop the radiological market in the Republic of Ireland, providing technical and business development support as necessary.
The Candidate
To be successful you will:
• Applicants are likely to be educated to degree level, or equivalent, in a relevant subject (science or engineering discipline)
• Complimented with a second degree related to a radiological specialism.
• Practical experience of the application of sound radiological protection principles or in radioactive waste management in an appropriate role in industry or government.
• This will be primarily a technical role and therefore strong technical knowledge and experience in radiological protection, radio-ecology, radioactive waste management or a related topic is essential.
• Experience of working in a commercial environment, with enthusiasm for bidding for, and winning, contract-based work, would be greatly advantageous.
• Project management skills, with the ability to work to budget and deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal skills are essential in developing the commercial aspects of the job.
• Project management experience.
