Job Description
Our Client is a very established consultancy with a successful track record in performance in environmental field. Within the UK they employ over 500 technical staff in eleven offices. This leading international company has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Waste Consultant to join their expanding waste team.
Responsibilities for a senior consultant include:
- Responsible for client care as required on projects, ensuring that projects delivered are meeting the client’s needs.
- Operate as a technical lead on a range of waste related projects and proposals. Responsible for the technical work of less experienced consultants.
- Manage, review and take responsibility for the progress of waste projects and the delivery to client needs. Resolve technical and financial queries through consultation with project managers and technical managers where appropriate.
- Uphold a detailed awareness of the companies capability, expertise and range of services and promote the companies capability including cross selling. Proactively seek business development opportunities and develop these under guidance from Commercial Managers and Directors where appropriate. Focuses on achieving targets. Support the CGM in the planning and budgeting process.
- Encourage and motivate the team by supporting the CGM at team meetings. Support the CGM in identifying resource requirements and shortfalls. Demonstrates commitment to the team by displaying a personal commitment and positive attitude at all times and acts as an ambassador for teamwork.
Qualifications required:
- Educated to degree level in a relevant field (or equivalent or be able to demonstrate equivalent level of understanding.
- Ideally hold membership of a professional institution – Associate member CIWM or CIWEM.
Experiences and Skills required:
- Relevant experience gained within either a consultancy or Local Authority.
- Knowledge of waste strategy, waste management, recycling or composting.
- Proven report writing, data manipulation, numeracy and communications skills are essential.
- Sound project management as well as business development skills including client care.
- A flexible attitude, positive outlook and attention to detail are essential, along with an ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Current driving licence.
